Centre policy 2026–2027

1. Scope and centre regulations

  • This policy applies to students of Avanç Poblenou, Avanç Eixample and, where applicable, to classes taught online during the 2026–2027 academic year. Acceptance of it is a requirement for enrolment.
  • The centre may reserve admission in the face of objective conduct that prevents the proper running of classes or mutual respect among users.
  • The centre may withdraw students who breach the rules of coexistence and internal operation, with prior warning whenever possible and in a proportionate manner.
  • Avanç is not responsible for objects lost or forgotten at the centre, without prejudice to any liability legally applicable to it.

2. Registration, groups and levels

  • To formalise enrolment, the identity of the student (and their legal guardian, if applicable) must be proven and, where payment is by direct debit, the SEPA mandate handed in at the centre must be signed. Avanç does not keep photocopies of the ID document nor copies of the signed mandate on the platform.
  • The level is determined based on the level test and is always confirmed by a member of the teaching team.
  • Groups have a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 10 students.
  • If during the year the group falls below 4 people, Avanç reserves the right to cancel the class if no other option is found, offering an alternative or a proportional refund of amounts paid and not used.
  • Avanç may propose a group change if the level is not appropriate, in agreement with the student.

3. Calendar and public holidays

  • Public holidays are those set by the reference school calendar.
  • The price of group classes includes public holidays and vacations; monthly and quarterly prices are calculated over the whole school year and split into instalments.

4. Attendance and make-up classes

  • Regular attendance is necessary to benefit from the course; punctuality is requested.
  • Group classes are not made up. Absence does not give rise to a refund or a fee discount, nor does it constitute withdrawal, without prejudice to any applicable legal rights.
  • Classes that Avanç cannot teach are made up on an alternative date or compensated.

5. Payments, fees and non-payment

  • Payment modalities:
    • Monthly membership: bank direct debit.
    • Quarterly membership: bank direct debit, cash or card at the centre's reception. The quarterly modality entails a commitment covering the three months: the student remains obliged to pay even if they stop attending by their own decision, and non-attendance does not in itself result in a reduction, refund or cancellation of the quarter. The foregoing does not apply to cancellation or breach attributable to Avanç, nor does it limit the consumer's mandatory legal rights.
  • Enrolment fee for group courses — €40:
    • Applies to every new student in a group course: adults, minors and exam preparation.
    • Does not apply to private classes, semi-private classes or packs.
    • A student is considered a continuing student if they link one academic year to the next and formalise their continuity within the period indicated by Avanç; continuing students do not pay a new enrolment fee.
    • If a student interrupts their link and later re-enrols in a group course, this is considered a new enrolment and the €40 fee applies.
    • Paid when enrolment is formalised. Not deducted from regular fees and non-refundable, except if Avanç cancels the course.
    • In campaigns expressly advertised as free enrolment, it may be charged initially and deducted from the first instalment.
  • Returned receipts: if a direct-debited receipt is returned for a cause not attributable to Avanç and the bank charges Avanç a fee for that return, the same receipt will be resubmitted and the person responsible for payment will be charged the actual bank cost incurred, currently €7 (real cost charged by Bankinter, confirmed on 3 September 2026), with no additional margin. This charge will not apply where the return results from an error attributable to Avanç. Only one charge per return is passed on, never several for the same returned receipt, and Avanç keeps accounting evidence of the cost passed on. The amount may be updated if the actual bank cost changes, with notice given before it is applied.
  • Students undertake to pay the fees corresponding to the period during which they remain enrolled, whether or not they attend class, until a communicated withdrawal takes effect.
  • Non-payment not regularised within the 15 days following notification may result in permanent withdrawal from the centre, with loss of enrolment, membership seniority and place, subject to prior notice and a 15-day remedy period, without prejudice to settlement of amounts owed.
  • No refunds will be made of amounts paid as a deposit, enrolment fee or fees for reasons unrelated to Avanç, without prejudice to the consumer's legal rights.
  • Avanç does not consult or report data to credit-reporting files.

6. Cancellation of courses by Avanç, organisational changes and force majeure

  • Avanç may cancel a course, following a proportional refund of amounts paid and not used, if the minimum of 4 people is not reached and no other solution is found.
  • Organisational changes: Avanç may make reasonable changes of teacher or classroom. A permanent or substantial change of schedule, centre or format will be communicated in advance. If the student does not accept a substantial change, they may cancel without penalty and receive, where applicable, a proportional refund of services paid for and not provided. Avanç may not unilaterally and permanently convert an in-person course to online.
  • Force majeure: in a force-majeure situation, Avanç may temporarily adapt the format to allow the course to continue. If the class is actually taught in the communicated temporary format, the service is considered provided. If Avanç cannot teach it, it will offer a make-up class, an alternative, or the appropriate financial treatment, without prejudice to mandatory legal rights.

7. Private and semi-private classes

  • Private classes are paid in advance.
  • Cancellation and rescheduling: a class may be cancelled or rescheduled without being used if notice is given at least 24 hours in advance. If notified with less than 24 hours' notice, the class is considered used, regardless of the reason, because the time slot and teacher had been reserved. If the cancellation is attributable to Avanç, the class is not considered used and a make-up class or alternative will be offered.
  • In shared private classes, if a person withdraws, the price is adjusted to the actual number of students in the class, with prior notice; if the change involves a substantial price variation, the student may choose not to continue.
  • Hour packs: validity begins on the date indicated in the terms accepted when purchasing the pack:
    • 6-hour pack: valid for 3 months.
    • 12-hour pack: valid for 6 months.
    • 20-hour pack: valid for 12 months.
    • The treatment of hours not used at the end of validity is governed by these terms and by the applicable consumer legislation.

8. Teaching material

  • The price includes classroom material, but not books. The book is paid for by the student and its purchase is compulsory (one book per year) for the proper running of classes; it may be freely purchased at any retailer, in the same title and edition indicated by Avanç.
  • Digital material provided by Avanç is for the student's personal use and may not be redistributed.

9. Withdrawal notice

  • Withdrawals are communicated in writing to hello@academia-avanc.com with 15 days' notice before the end of the current month.
  • Withdrawal takes effect at the end of the current monthly period, which is paid in full. No fees are issued for periods after a correctly communicated withdrawal.
  • Processing the withdrawal is independent of any outstanding debt: amounts owed remain payable, but do not block a withdrawal communicated in accordance with this policy.
  • If not notified 15 days in advance, the following month's receipt is considered accrued.

10. Withdrawal

In enrolments contracted at a distance, the consumer may have a right of withdrawal under consumer regulations, with the exceptions legally provided for when the service begins before the period ends.

11. Behaviour and coexistence

  • Respectful treatment towards other students and staff is expected, in accordance with objective standards of coexistence.
  • Discriminatory or violent conduct, or conduct that prevents the class from running, is not permitted, nor is the recording of classes without express authorisation.
  • In the event of serious or repeated breaches, Avanç may adopt proportionate measures, including withdrawal from the course, following prior warning where possible.

12. Online classes

  • These are taught using the video-call tool indicated by Avanç.
  • Students are responsible for having an adequate connection and equipment.
  • Recording, broadcasting or sharing access to sessions without authorisation is prohibited.

13. Minors

  • Arrivals and departures follow the group's schedule; the centre does not assume custody outside class hours.
  • Any authorisation for departure or pick-up must be provided by the parent or legal guardian.
  • Health data, disability data, special educational needs data or allergy data are not requested.

14. Use of image

  • Avanç may take photographs or videos during centre activities only with the express, separate and prior consent of the data subject or their legal guardian.
  • Consent for image use is optional and does not condition enrolment, and may be withdrawn at any time by writing to hello@academia-avanc.com.

15. Communications

  • Ordinary and operational communications are carried out by email (hello@academia-avanc.com), telephone and, where applicable, by WhatsApp Business at the official number +34 633 246 599, an account controlled by Avanç.
  • WhatsApp is used solely for support and operational communications (class notices, changes, appointments), never for promotions or newsletters. No channel is exclusively mandatory: email and other channels remain available.
  • Commercial communications (promotions, newsletters) require prior, optional, separate and revocable consent, and are distinct from the operational communications necessary to provide the service.
  • It is the student's responsibility to keep their contact details up to date.
  • The data processing associated with WhatsApp Business is described in the Privacy Policy v1.2.

16. Data protection

The processing of data is described in the Privacy Policy. No references are made to repealed regulations or to credit-reporting files.

17. Term and continuity

This policy applies to the 2026–2027 academic year and replaces previous versions. It will apply to new enrolments and renewals accepted from its entry-into-force date, with no retroactive effect on earlier contracts. Avanç may update it, giving reasonable advance notice.
